Pediatric Nursing National Conference – KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research

KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) and the Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, organized the Pediatric Nursing National Conference on May 23–24, 2025, at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC Campus, Belagavi, Karnataka. Themed “Transforming Pediatric Nursing: Bridging Research, Advocacy, and Practice for Better Outcomes,” the conference attracted 520 delegates from across India.

Participants included nurse midwifery educators, nursing officers, nurse practitioners in midwifery, faculty members, and Ph.D. scholars. They were from from states such as Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.

Over two days, the conference featured five plenary sessions and two panel discussions. Poster and paper presentations were also organized. 

Inaugural Function

Dr. Deepika Cecil Khakha, Nursing Advisor at the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, was the Chief Guest. Guest of Honour was Dr. Nitin Gangane, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of KAHER, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Honorable Chairman of the KLE Society and Chancellor of KAHER, presided.

Following the inauguration, Dr. Khakha addressed the gathering, emphasizing the roles of research, advocacy, and practice in enhancing clinical skills and healthcare outcomes. She commended KAHER for hosting the conference.

Dr. Gangane highlighted the “Finishing School” initiative launched by the KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences and discussed the research activities undertaken at KAHER.

Dr. Vaishali R. Mohite, Dean of Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences, Karad, expressed gratitude towards KAHER and shared her experiences as an alumna. She emphasized the importance of skill development and delivering empathetic care services to society.

Dr Kore in his presidential remarks informed the audience that the KLE Society currently operates eight nursing institutions, all affiliated with KLE hospitals to provide hands-on experience. He stressed the significance of continuous exploratory and experiential learning, along with knowledge sharing. He also noted that workshops and conferences play a vital role in developing relevant skills.
