A Grateful Village Celebrates Its Visionary Son
The 78th birthday of Dr. Prabhakar Kore was celebrated with deep reverence in his native village of Ankali, Chikkodi taluk. Organized by the KLE Society, co-operative bodies, and healthcare institutions, the event drew thousands who came to honour a man whose vision reshaped education and healthcare across North Karnataka and beyond.
Spiritual Leaders Laud a Life of Purpose
Jagadguru Abhinava Gavisiddheshwara Swamiji of Koppal praised Dr. Kore’s lifelong commitment to public service. “The name Prabhakar means light, and he truly embodies that light for society,” he said. Urging the audience to live with humility and purpose, the Swamiji emphasized the transformative power of selfless leadership.
Swastishree Lakshmisena Swamiji of Kolhapur Jain Math echoed the sentiment. “At 78, Dr. Kore remains a guiding force. He inspires the youth and builds lasting trust,” he said. Acknowledging Dr. Kore’s contributions, he added, “Over 310 institutions and accessible healthcare facilities now stand as a testament to his leadership.”
Dr. Kore and Political Leaders reflect on His Lifelong Mission
In his address, Dr. Prabhakar Kore humbly reflected on his journey. “I owe everything to my parents, mentors, and the nurturing soil of Ankali,” he said. “Today, KLE runs 315 institutions across India, educating over 1.45 lakh students. In healthcare, we’ve built a 4,500-bed network that provides modern and affordable care to all.”
He recalled his early steps—starting a theatre to promote Kannada films, launching a sugar factory, and assuming chairmanship of the KLE Society in 1984. “With divine grace, the people’s faith, and my wife’s support, we created an institution that belongs to the community,” he affirmed.
Former Chief Minister and MP Jagadish Shettar applauded Dr. Kore’s work. “North Karnataka once lacked quality schools. He bridged that gap,” Shettar said. “His leadership follows Basavanna’s ideals—serving through action, not just words.”
Former minister and MLC Prakash Hukkeri, who inaugurated the event, reflected on their shared childhood. “We were classmates. His rise to lead the KLE Society is nothing short of inspirational,” he remarked. “For over four decades, he has served in education, health, and research without pause.”
Empowering Communities Through Service and Healthcare
To mark the occasion, the Dr. Prabhakar Kore Co-operative Credit Society donated ₹5 lakh to Koppal Gavisiddheshwar Math, recognizing its spiritual and social work. In parallel, KLE Hospital organized a free mega health camp that served over 8,800 villagers. Of these, 800 patients were referred for surgeries, ensuring that quality care reached the underserved.
These acts of charity and service reflected the enduring values Dr. Kore upholds—bridging institutional excellence with grassroots impact. His commitment to community well-being remains the cornerstone of every initiative he leads.
Celebrating Culture, Honouring a Legacy
A grand wrestling tournament, the Jangi Nihali Kusti, brought together 78 wrestlers from across India and abroad. The event drew enthusiastic crowds and served as a vibrant display of traditional sport and community pride.
