KLE College of Agricultural Sciences

KLE College of Agricultural Sciences

KLE College of Agricultural Sciences is a dream realized for KLE Society under Dr. Prabhakar Kore’s leadership. Established at Tenikolla near Yaragarti, it is the second private agriculture college in Karnataka. Moreover, the college is affiliated with the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad (UASD), making it a milestone in farm education.

The Press Meet

The press meet announcing the commencement of the college took place at KLE Society’s Lingaraj College Campus, Belagavi, on 25th August 2025.

Addressing the media, Dr. Prabhakar Kore stated, “It is imperative that we provide proper education and training to the children of farmers so they can continue the legacy of feeding the nation; a responsibility second to none. Furthermore, upgrading their knowledge and skills, and equipping them with scientific thought and modern technology, will empower them and consequently contribute to nation building. Hence KLE Society has long contemplated and worked toward this institution. It is indeed a dream come true.”

He added that the MoU between KLE Society and UASD, signed on 13th August 2025, marked a transformative beginning.

The College

The Government has approved an intake of 120 students. Out of these, 72 seats go through KEA, while the remaining are allotted under management quota. Importantly, 50% of all seats are reserved for children of farmers and agricultural laborers.

This four-year residential program includes eight semesters, with six semesters covering theory and practical training. In addition, students will pursue Skill Education Courses (SEC) in horticulture, seed science, microbiology, mushroom production, vermiculture, and bio-agent production.

Beyond academics, the curriculum emphasizes experiential learning through farm visits, dairy and poultry training, and value-addition practices. Furthermore, it integrates Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE), study tours, NSS, NCC, sports, and cultural programs for all-round growth.

The Tenikolla campus offers 32 departments, advanced laboratories, hostels, 60 acres of cultivable land, a farm pond, and livestock units. Additionally, 39 teaching faculty and 43 support staff will mentor students throughout their academic journey.

With the launch of KLE College of Agricultural Sciences, KLE Society once again demonstrates its dedication to empowering rural youth and strengthening agricultural communities. Guided by Dr. Prabhakar Kore’s vision, the college will nurture skilled agri-professionals, preserve the farmers’ legacy, and consequently contribute to India’s agricultural progress.
