KLE Society’s MOU with Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences

KLE Society’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BIMS Super Specialty Hospital, Belagavi. Dr. Colonel M. Dayanand, Medical Director of KLES Hospital, and Dr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Director of BIMS, signed the agreement.

The event saw KLE Society Chairman Dr. Prabhakar Kore emphasize public welfare over profit. He stated that healthcare must be a right, not a privilege. He assured that KLE Society will continue supporting rural communities through quality treatment. Karnataka Minister and MLA Asif (Raju) Sait also attended. He expressed hope for better healthcare in Belagavi and nearby villages. Dr. Shetty explained staffing challenges, noting only 10 of 23 specialists are in place. Recruitment efforts continue to strengthen the medical team.

Expanding Advanced and Free Healthcare

The KLE Society MOU with BIMS ensures advanced medical facilities remain free for rural and weaker sections. Currently, 1,400 beds already serve underprivileged patients at no cost. Together, both hospitals will offer nearly 4,500 beds.

Patients visiting BIMS who need advanced treatment will move to Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital. They will receive specialized care in neurology, neurosurgery, nephrology, cardiology, gastroenterology, pediatric surgery, and cancer. Services under Ayushman Bharat will support the most vulnerable patients.

Until government staffing improves, KLES will provide doctors from 12 departments free of cost. Dr. Kore stressed that partnerships like this protect the dignity of every patient. The KLE Society MOU with BIMS represents a crucial step toward advanced, affordable healthcare in Belagavi. It brings specialized treatment closer to thousands of rural families.
