
The PEARL PHYSIOCON 2025 Belagavi conference began at 11:00 am at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC Campus. The event marked a significant step in advancing physiotherapy education and global collaboration.
The theme for this international conference is “Shaping the Future: Technology Driven Patient Care.” Chief Guest Ms. Diana Edulji, former Indian Women’s Cricket Captain and Arjuna and Padma Shri awardee, inaugurated the event.
Guests of honour included Dr. Iftikar Ali, Chairman, Karnataka State Allied & Healthcare Council, and Dr. Ali Irani, internationally renowned physiotherapist and member of the Physiotherapy Professional Council, Government of India.
During his address, Dr. Prabhakar Kore highlighted the evolution of physiotherapy education in Karnataka. He also emphasized the importance of skilled physiotherapists in strengthening the healthcare system.
Dr. Ali Irani spoke about milestones in the profession and shared valuable learnings from his journey. Meanwhile, Ms. Edulji reflected on her sports career and explained how physiotherapy extended her playing years.
Later, Dr. Yagna Shukla, Chairperson, National Commission of Allied and Healthcare Professions, encouraged young physiotherapists to embrace innovation. Additionally, Dr. V. P. Gupta, Member, NCAHP, shared goals aimed at meeting global benchmarks. Dr. Ketan Bhatikar, Member, IAP, stressed the rising demand for trained physiotherapy experts in India.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ganesh B. R., Organising Secretary.
The PEARL PHYSIOCON 2025 Belagavi conference hosted 12 international speakers, 31 national experts, seven hands-on workshops, award ceremonies, and scientific paper and poster presentations.
