
Dr. Prabhakar Basavprabhu Kore (Padma Shri Awardee) was felicitated by several Belagavi NGOs at Maheshwari School for the Blind. This is in recognition of his distinguished contributions to education, healthcare, and social service. The gathering celebrated his Padma Shri honour, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, while also acknowledging his decades of dedicated service to society.
The felicitation was jointly organised by Shantai Vrudhashram, Swami Vivekananda Seva Pratishthan, Samruddha, Maheshwari School for the Blind, Aarsha Vidya Gurukulam, Mahesh Foundation, Ashraya Foundation, Nandan Makkal Dham, Karunalaya, NSST Old Age Home, Jeevan Aadhar Foundation, and Snehalaya.
Representatives, staff, volunteers, and residents from all the participating NGOs and institutions attended the programme. Moreover, their presence reflected the deep respect and gratitude Dr. Kore has earned through his commitment to serving society.
Honouring a Lifetime of Service
The programme began with a welcome address by Ex-Mayor Vijay More. He highlighted Dr. Kore’s dedication to education, healthcare, and humanitarian service. Meanwhile, Chintamani Gramopadhye delivered the presidential address and appreciated his visionary leadership and lasting impact through KLE Society and its various initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, NGO representatives described Dr. Prabhakar Basavprabhu Kore (Padma Shri Awardee) as a visionary institution builder. A person whose work has transformed the lives of lakhs of people. His efforts have expanded access to quality education and healthcare, particularly for economically weaker sections.
Furthermore, the representatives expressed gratitude for the encouragement, guidance, and support extended to NGOs under his leadership. His association with the voluntary sector has strengthened organisations serving children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women, and other vulnerable communities.
As a mark of respect, representatives of all participating NGOs felicitated Dr. Kore and congratulated him on receiving the Padma Shri. They said the honour recognises his lifetime of selfless service and nation-building.
Finally, the programme concluded with heartfelt congratulations and best wishes from all participating organisations and their residents. The gathering also reaffirmed their shared commitment to compassion, selfless service, and inclusive development.
