Swachh Bharati Abhiyan on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti

“Swachh Bharati Abhiyan”, the cleanliness initiative that has its roots in the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhiji, the Father of the Nation, is a path breaking initiative implemented by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji; an initiative that has dramatically improved the quality of life across India and consequently the international image of the country as a whole.

With immense pride and an inspired sense of responsibility, we commemorated the 150^th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji  on 2^nd October 2018 at Ankali by organizing a cleanliness drive which saw the participation of over 2000 students from KLE Society and Government Schools. Representatives of the local administration and several residents also participated in the event.

The pride of the region, Malaprabha Jadhav, Belagavi, who won the bronze medal in the Kurash event in the recently concluded 18^th Asian Games, Indonesia, inspired the participants with her presence and active involvement. She delivered a motivational address and while thanking the KLE Society for sponsoring her Olympic preparations, expressed hope that rural athletes would continue to get the facilities and support needed to excel at international events.
