First Successful Liver Transplant at KLE Hospital
Happy to inform every one about ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐๐ณ๐๐น ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐ถ.The first of its kind โSuccessful Liver Transplantationโ was done in KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC Belagavi in Collaboration with Aster Hospital Bangalore.The donor was a 30-year-old brain-dead patient from Annapurna hospital, Athani, and the liver was transplanted into a 19-year-old boy from Haveri. The surgery was performed 10 days ago and the patient was discharged on 20th Oct 2022.Liver transplantation is a very complex and technically demanding surgery performed only at designated Liver Transplant centers by highly trained transplant surgeons and requires elaborative support teams with surgical time ranging from 12-18 hours. Patients had to go to metropolitan cities like Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad for this treatment at large costs. We are happy to bring this to Belagavi.
