The Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS) organized the prestigious IAS ONE – Continuing Medical Education (CME) program in Belagavi, bringing together leading orthopedic surgeons, arthroscopy specialists, and postgraduate students from across the country. Held as part of the society’s initiative to strengthen regional academic engagement, the event focused on the latest advancements in arthroscopic surgery, sports injury management, and minimally invasive techniques. Expert-led sessions, live surgical demonstrations, and interactive case discussions enriched the knowledge of young professionals and practicing clinicians alike. The program also emphasized practical skills, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based approaches in shoulder and knee arthroscopy. With active participation from KLE orthopedic faculty and trainees, IAS ONE–Belagavi proved to be a significant milestone in promoting academic excellence in musculoskeletal care.
The Event:
Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of KLE Society, inaugurated the IAS ONE–CME organized by the Indian Arthroscopy Society on April 6, 2025, in Belagavi. The event took place at Dr. B.S. Kodkany Hall, KLE Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC, KAHER. It was held in collaboration with Belagavi Orthopaedic Surgeons Welfare Society (BOSS), KAHER’s J.N. Medical College, USM-KLE International Medical Program, and Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS).
The event saw the esteemed presence of Dr. S. Arumugam, President of IAS, and Dr. Sandeep R. Biraris, Past Secretary of IAS. Dignitaries from KAHER included Dr. Nitin Gangane, Vice Chancellor; Dr. H.B. Rajashekhar, Director, USM-KLE IMP; Dr. (Mrs) N.S. Mahantashetti, Principal, JNMC; and Dr. Rajesh Powar, Vice Principal, JNMC. Also present were Dr. M.S. Ganachari, Registrar, KAHER; Dr. (Col) M. Dayananda, MD, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC; and Dr. S.C. Dharwad, Director, KLE Centenary Charitable Hospital.
The organizing team of IAS ONE – Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program included Dr. Anil Patil, President, KOA and Organising Chairman; Dr. M.N. Patil, President, BOSS and Organising Co-Chairman; along with Dr. Ajith Hundekar and Dr. Murugesh Kurani as Organising Secretaries.
