KLE Technological University in Hubballi, Karnataka, inaugurated the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR), a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to pioneering advancements in artificial intelligence. With a substantial investment of ₹24 crore, CAIR aims to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation in key areas such as Edge AI, High-Performance Computing, Data Science, and Cloud Technologies.

Spanning 6,000 square feet, CAIR offers dedicated spaces for collaborative discussions, student workstations, and offices for research leaders. The lab is equipped with extensive computing facilities, including high-performance servers and workstations, all supported by a 24/7 power supply and robust networking capabilities.
🎉 Inauguration Highlights
The facility was inaugurated by Prof. Manish Joshi, Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India. During his address, Prof. Joshi emphasized the importance of ethical considerations in AI development and highlighted the need for innovation in emerging frontiers of AI.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Shettar remarked that AI serves as a transformative force reshaping industries and societies. He stated, “Our CAIR Lab will act as a hub for interdisciplinary research, innovation, and real-world impact,” aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s leadership in responsible and inclusive AI development.
Chancellor Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of KLE Society, expressed pride in the establishment of CAIR. He emphasized the center’s role in fostering innovation and preparing students for the evolving technological landscape. Dr. Kore reiterated the commitment of KLE to grooming talent for the modern day industry.
