KLE College of Pharmacy organized an International Congress by Society of Ethno-pharmacy and Conference on Innovations at KAHER, Belagavi

12th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology & International Conference on Innovations in Drug Technology and Phytopharmaceuticals

I had the honor of inaugurating the 12th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE) and the International Conference on Innovations in Drug Technology and Phytopharmaceuticals. The event took place from March 6 to 8, 2025, at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre, JNMC Campus, Belagavi.

Organized by KLE College of Pharmacy and KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), in association with ICMR-National Institute of Traditional Medicine (ICMR-NITM), the conference focused on the theme: “Ethnopharmacology: Integrating Traditional Health Practices and Contemporary Medical Science”

Esteemed guests included Dr. Pulok K. Mukherjee, Founder of SFE India; Prof. Namrita Lall, President of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology, Kolkata; Dr. C.K. Katiyar; Indraneel Das, Vice-President of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology, Kolkata; Prof. Rudolf Bauer from ISE Switzerland; and Dr. Subarna Roy, Director of ICMR Belagavi. Additionally, Dr. Nitin M. Gangane, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. M.S. Ganachari, Registrar; Dr. Sunil S. Jalalpure, Principal of KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi; and Dr. Pramod Hurkadale from KAHER, Belagavi, were present.

The conference aimed to create a global platform for discussions on the sustainable utilization of medicinal plants. It explored evidence-based validation of traditional knowledge and the integration of ethnopharmacological research with modern drug discovery. Approximately 700 participants from India and 21 other countries actively engaged in the event .

Such events significantly contribute to the comprehensive development of knowledge and skills. Participants benefit immensely from exposure and interactions. Moreover, these gatherings pave the way for future learning and collaborations.
