KLE Centenary’s Two Books Released: “Noorara Siri Belaku” and “The KLE Chronicle” , 15/11/2016
The Centenary Celebrations of KLE Society on 15th Nov 2016 commenced with the unveiling of a statue of Sir. Siddhappa Kambli which has been installed in the lush green garden of the Lingaraj College. Sir. Siddhappa Kambli was the Education Minister of Bombay Province and he played a major role in the grant of permission for the commencement of the Lingaraj College at Belagavi. His Holiness Jagadaguru Dr Shri Tontada Siddhalinga Mahaswamiji, Gadag & His Holiness Dr. Shri. Siddharam Swamiji of Naganur blessed the occasion with Shri. Basavaraj Rayareddy, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka as Chief Guest.
This was followed by a function at the Lingaraj College ground wherein Shri. Basavaraj Rayareddy, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka addressed the audience and delivered a lecture on “Higher Education-Challenges and Opportunities”. Applauding the role of KLE Society in transforming the educational landscape across Karnataka and Maharashtra, he hailed the contributions of the Members of Board of Management for generating opportunities for higher education through institutions that had the best of infrastructure. He also highlighted the national statistics in context of the educational scenario and expressed concern over the lack of takers for higher education. Shri Rayareddy informed the audience about the various initiatives of the Government of Karnataka in context of educational development and announced that the government was working on setting up a School of Economics at Bengaluru. The institution would be at par with the London School of Economics in context of quality and educational methodology.
The dignitaries on the dais released two books. “Noorara Siri Belaku” which narrates the glorious 100 year journey of the KLE Society scripted by Shri. V. S Gavimath has been compiled by KLE Society’s Publication division. The second publication is “The KLE Chronicle” which is a photographic depiction of the events through the history of the KLE Society.
Jagadaguru Dr Shri Tontada Siddhalinga Mahaswamiji, Gadag & His Holiness Dr. Shri. Siddharam Swamiji of Naganur appreciated the yeoman services of the KLE Society in spreading the light of education especially to the students in remote rural areas. They attributed the emergence of Global KLE to the efforts of KLE Society.
Students and faculty from various institutions of KLE Society were felicitated for their excellent performances at national and international levels.
The event was presided over by Member of Board of Management KLE Society Shri. Mahantesh Kavatagimath MLC.
